History:
penniless Joseph Hagan came over from Ireland to the United States in 1856. He and his wife Margaret established what is now known as Bloomsbury Farm. The farm was widely diversified with livestock and land. Joseph worked the land until his death in 1907, leaving the 400 acres he had acquired to his family. According to Irish tradition, the farm was passed to the youngest son in the family, Joseph Hagan Jr. Since then, the land has been passed on from generation to generation.
Dave Petersen, a fifth generation farmer, has taken over the responsibilities of the land from his grandfather Chester and his brother Kenneth. Keeping with the diverse tradition, Dave and his wife Karen still harvest over 2,000 acres of land annually, while providing a wide variety of year round agritainment to the public. They offer a 10-acre corn maze, hayrack rides, the area's largest pumpkin patch, a gift shop, green house and so much more.
