Our 15th Haunting Season! 2006 is the USS Nightmare’s 15th season as America’s Premier Haunted Steamboat! Rated annually among the area’s best haunted dark attractions, the USS Nightmare is built on a real steamboat and houses some of the river’s most notorious spirits! Changes for 2006 include a new path winding through some of our most popular terrorizing scenes as well as through the all new massive new cargo hold! The Cargo Hold: The Cargo Hold houses the private Mitchell collection of mysterious and bizarre oddities collected from all parts of the globe. The new and expanded Cargo Hold is over 2500 square feet and opens areas of the vessel never seen before now. Pickled Brothers Side Show: All new for 2006! A strange and distant relative of Captain Mitchell will display some freaks of nature from the Mitchell collection as well as perform a strange variety of death defying feats in this separate attraction located adjacent to the haunted steamboat. The Cave: During this past year, our workers have cut out and removed much of the overgrowth to open up the new Cargo Hold. In the process, an entirely new corridor has been uncovered. Hidden from past years by the massive invasion of foliage, this cave-like corridor and its wild creatures are a scary addition to the haunted attraction. Command Performances: The giant 13’ Impaler, the vile Rat Lady, and the resident Butcher return along with Captain Mitchell, his family and his crew in some of the boat’s most popular scenes including the Boiler Room, the Lab, the Galley, Pantry and Freezer, Crypt and Cargo Hold! With all these scenes and more, the USS Nightmare is the longest haunted attraction in the area! USS Nightmare Mess Hall: This private party area is one of the boat’s best secrets! The Mess Hall rental includes unlimited entrance to the USS Nightmare, room rental, pizza and soft drinks. Whether it’s a child’s birthday party, a fraternity or sorority social, or a unique office party, the USS Nightmare Mess Hall event will be a night to remember for all! Tall Stacks Operation: This year we are excited about the return of the steamboat gathering Tall Stacks. The USS Nightmare is located on the Newport waterfront and offers a front row view of the visiting Tall Stacks boats. The USS Nightmare will operate its normal show schedule during the event between October 4th and October 8th. Remember to leave time at the end of your Tall Stacks adventure to tour the USS Nightmare, an authentic historic steamboat dredge.
