Young Mrs. Mortus was a beautiful, beautiful woman. Sparkling green eyes and skin like alabaster. Her husband was insanely jealous. It was 100 years ago this October they were both found dead. Blood dripped from Mr. Mortus's trembling hands as I watched through the keyhole of the honeymoon suite. Minutes later I heard a couple arguing. As I approached their door with room service, my curiosity got the best of me. There I stood the only eyewitness to the brutal murder and suicide. Mr. Mortus was in a jealous rage. Suddenly he became violent and slashed his wife's throat. When he realized what he had done, he became a madman, ran frantically down the hall and threw himself over the balcony. Some say the ghost of old man Mortus still roams the hallways every October, stealing the souls of innocent victims, in order to keep his spirit alive.
